How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your Aura account directly from the app. Follow these steps:
- Open the Aura app on your device
- Tap the Profile tab at the bottom of the screen
- Tap Settings (gear icon in the top-right corner)
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account
- Confirm your decision when prompted You will be asked to confirm that you understand this action is permanent.
30-day grace period: After you confirm deletion, your account enters a 30-day deactivation period. During this time, your profile is hidden from other users and you can reactivate your account by simply logging back in. After 30 days, all data is permanently and irreversibly deleted.
What Data Is Deleted
When your account is permanently deleted, the following data is removed from our servers:

| Voice recordings | Voice signatures and all audio recordings are permanently deleted from storage |
| Matches and connections | All match history, connections, and compatibility scores are removed |
| Messages | All conversation history is permanently deleted |
| Personality data | Onboarding responses, personality traits, and preference data are deleted |
| Location data | All stored location information is removed |
| Subscription data | Billing records are retained as required by law; active subscriptions should be cancelled separately through your app store |
Important Notes
Cancel Your Subscription First
If you have an active Aura Premium subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. To avoid being charged, cancel your subscription through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store before deleting your account.
Data Retained for Legal Purposes
Certain data may be retained beyond the 30-day deletion period where required by law, including transaction records for tax and accounting purposes, and any data subject to an active legal hold or investigation. This retained data is kept in a secure, restricted environment and is not used for any other purpose.
Effect on Other Users
Once your account is deleted, your profile will no longer appear to other users. Any existing matches or connections with other users will be removed. Other users will not be notified of your account deletion.
Can't Access the App?
If you are unable to delete your account through the app (for example, if you've lost access to your phone number), you can request manual account deletion by contacting us directly.
